Hello everyone,

I am living in Poland(Wroclaw) since some time and would like to get on the bands.
I would like to know what prefix should I use when operating: sp6/lz1abc or sp/lz1abc?
Also is there any restriction in time for using such type of callsign and should I at some point apply for Polish one?

Another thing is that I would like to put an antenna on the roof of the block (Inv-v). The organization type is "wspólnota mieszkaniowa". The question is who should I ask for permission: The company that is taking care of maintaining the building or the neighbours.

You should ask "wspolnota mieszkaniowa". It won't be easy. I wish you luck. In my former QTH I was not able to get permission from such an organisation. But it is always possible to work QRO from balcony .

Going to the court is another method.

First of all try to find someone from property management (wspólnota) and ask, how to proceed - finally you will need a permission for antenna instalation. The question is how long it will take and what documents you will need.
With the callsign it's easy - you work as SP/LZ1ABC for 3 months, if you have a valid CEPT license. For a longer stay it will be convenient for you to apply for a polish callsign - with the CEPT certificate you can get one without an examination.

So in general I don't have to have Polish callsign to work for more than 3 months? This would be great as I would like to use lz1abc.

I understand about wspólnota. I will call them to see what's their opinion on that matter. Probably it doesn't matter but it's a company called Domus.

And yes the balcony thing is an option but I hope I can get a descent Inverted-V on the roof. I would like to be able to work down to 80m.

No, if you stay up to 3 months, you don't need one and just use SP/LZ1ABC. If you stay longer, you should apply for a local license.

Kolego "monogloto" (w odróżnieniu od "poligloty", hi) - A czy czytałeś KTO założył ten wątek? Zupełnie nie rozumiem dlaczego mielibyśmy lekceważyć kolegę z LZ używając jedynie języka polskiego.
Koledzy chcą mu pomóc najlepiej jak potrafią i tym samym okazują szacunek dla brata-krótkofalowca.
NIKT CIEBIE NIE ZMUSZA ABYŚ SIĘ "WYSILAŁ" i jeśli nie masz nic konstruktywnego do dodania to oszczędź sobie wysiłku a nam czytania.

Zawsze można to co się chce napisać wrzucić do google tłumacza i już jest po angielsku i odwrotnie także To taka deska ratunku dla tych co nie znają języka.

I think it won't be a big issue if you apply now for a polish callsign and in the meantime still use SP/LZ1ABC

Na brak znajomości języków obcych zawsze znajdzie się usprawiedliwienie. Jest takie angielskie słowo na to: ridiculous. Po co w ogóle takie wstawki, że to polskie forum itd.

tę dumną naturę wyrażają najczęściej ci co obcego języka nie znają. Dla pozostałych "no problem".
Czasem warto rozważyć czy nie pisać postów w obcym j.

Koledzy, bardzo proszę pozostańmy tylko przy głównym temacie tego wątku.

Prior to the license application You should meet the Domus management and deal with them to get permission to operate from your appartment and errect an antenna on the roof.
With the valid LZ + CEPT license you will be able to prove, that your activity is legal. All depends on your negotiating ability.
Usually those people know nothing about the ham radio. They worry about the possible damage to the roof only.
Remember, the final decision is at the discretion of property owners/ managers and you rent an apartment only.

Besides, please consider a visit to the Field Division of PZK (Polish Radio Amateur Union) in Wrocław to meet the local ham society.

The aprtament owners are me and my wife so yes, I will apply for sure about the temporary callsign.
I will have to speak with Domus to start the process of erecting the antenna.
