Saturday, 5 June 2010 at 10:21 UTC, i.e. 12:21 local time, Michele Rosi School in Camaiore (Lucca - Tuscany), Italy established a direct radio contact with NASA astronaut Tracy E. Caldwell-Dyson, KF5DBF on board the International Space Station. The Amateur Radio school station operated the contact with callsign IZ5QLC.
Michele Rosi school is a middle school part of the Comprehensive Institute "Camaiore 2" located in Lido di Camaiore. This is a little Tuscan town on the beautiful Tyrrhenian coast of Versilia, near Lucca, Italy.
Mr. Alessandro Tesconi, IK5EHI decided in favour of a direct contact and operated the radio contact. The questions were read by students of Michele Rosi School. Ages of the students: 6 to 10 years.
At 10:21 UTC, contact with OR4ISS was established by amateur radio club station IZ5QLC. At 10:30 UTC, contact with OR4ISS continued via amateur radio club at �Cittadella Mediterranea della Scienza� in Bari (south Italy) connected by phone line to the school in Camaire. Amateur radio club station I2JRY in Gallarate linked via phone line to the Rosi school was ready to be involved as backup ground station during the contact due local noise in Camaiore only if needed. Astronaut Tracy E. Caldwell-Dyson, KF5DBF answered all questions and greetings and thanks exchanged. The signals from the ISS were loud and clear all the time.
An audience of more than 150 students, teachers, visitors and media assist to the contact. Before the contact, ARISS mentor Francesco De Paolis, IK0WGF introduced the event and ARISS activities with a presentation via phone line.
Regional media and newspapers as �RAI3 Toscana�, �Il tirreno�, etc. covered the event.

ARISS is an international educational outreach program partnering the participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES, JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating countries.
ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers onboard the International Space Station. Teachers, parents and communities see, first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize youngsters' interest in science, technology and learning.

| Dziś przed południem czasu lokalnego kolejny ARISS kontakt.
The Technical Industrial State Institute (ITIS) was established on 1st October 1959, in Gallarate, as a textile course with its head office in Giovane Italia square. In 1961 the School opened the Telecommunications specialization. Later, in 1964, the Industrial Electronics specialization and in 1969-70 the Electrotechnics specialization were added. In 1999 the Aeronautics Constructions course started and in 2004 also Industrial Computer Science. The school is attended by 1000 students aged 14-19.
For teaching activities there are 16 laboratories, a library, a main hall, two gyms and outdoor sports facilities.
The school harbours the amateur ARI Radio Club IQ2GM. The school's callsign is I2JRY.
An ARISS radio contact is planned Monday 7 June 2010 at 09:40 UTC, which is 11.40 CEST.
This direct radio contact will be operated by I2JRY. Downlink signals will be audible in Europe on 145.800MHz FM.

The ARISS educative radio contact with the Norwegian Museum of Science, Technology and Medicine, Oslo is now confirmed for Saturday September 11, 2010.
Doug Wheelock KF5BOC, Expedition 24 flight engineer onboard the ISS, will answer the questions from the students.
The telebridge radio contact will be operated by ARISS ground station LU8YY, Neuquen, Argentina.

Instytut "Leopardi" to klasyczne i naukowe liceum.
Kontakt będzię kombinacją łączności bezpośredniej przez IZ2PWX oraz telemostu przez IK1SLD (Casale Monferrato, Piemonte, Italy).

Tomku dzisiaj była fonia, ale zauważyłem że jak nadają to zwiększają moc w stosunku np. do pakietów, co do statusu stacji to możesz sobie obserwować http://www.issfanclub.com/
po prawej stronie masz wypisane.
Co do odbioru, to faktycznie pionowa jest o tyle lepsza że nie musisz kręcić anteną, natomiast przekłada się to na jakość, z tym że tu jest to uwarunkowane Twoim położeniem.

| ARISS wczoraj 21 grudnia skończył 10 lat!
A 20 grudnia br. dałem o ARISS wykład w Zespole Szkół Technicznych w Kole przy której pracuje Kolski Klub SP3PGZ  Uczestniczyło w nim około 50 uczniów z klas 1-4. Jak coś się pojawi z tego wydarzenia, to dam znać.
W skrócie przypomnę, że ISS powstało w wyniku oficjalnej współpracy 15 państw oraz 5 organizacji z USA, Rosji, Kanady, ESA - kraje europejskie z wyjątkiem W.B. oraz Japonia i Brazylia. Z pewnością do powodzenia projektu ARISS przyczyniły się anteny nadawczo-odbiorcze na pasmo 2m, które zostały zaprojektowane i wykonane przez Polski zespół z Wrocławia!

ARISS SCHOOL CONTACT PLANNED WITH SCHOOL IN BARI, ITALY
An ARISS School Contact is planned for "Cittadella Mediterranea della Scienza, located in Bari, south Italy, on the Adriatic sea.
The direct radio contact is scheduled on Saturday January 8, 2011 at 12:21:55 UTC, which is 13.22 CEWT.
The "Cittadella Mediterranea della Scienza" is a permanent structure for the promotion of science and technology. The institution has been inaugurated 18 October 2006, as an initiative of the University of Bari, the Puglia region, the city of Bari, the National Institute for Physics (INFM), the Regional Educational Office of Puglia, the Mediterranean University and the Society for Industry of the Bari Province.
October 30, 2010 the Cittadella has inaugurated, in presence of Princes Elettra Marconi, the new educational laboratory for Telecommunications, Astrophysics and Optics. The laboratory accepts the participation of students of all grades to projects of international dimension, like ARISS and SETI of the Seti League.
The contacts will be conducted in Italian with astronaut Paolo Nespoli IZ0JPA.
The downlink signals will be audible in Europe on 145.800 MHz FM.

9. Annamaria: Gli effetti della accelerazione centrifuga saranno valutati solo su radici e perche proprio su piante di lenticchie?
10. Fabio: Quali materiali altamente tecnologici hanno trovato applicazione nello spazio?
11. Antonio: senza gravitaci puo essere una diversa distribuzione del sangue nel corpo umano. Quali problemi causa e come li combattere nello spazio?
12. Francesco: a cosa si pensa siano dovuti i flash luminosi osservati da tutti gli astronauti nello spazio?

Saturday, 08 January, 2010 at 12:22 UTC and 13:57 UTC, i.e. 13:22 and 14:57 local time, University of Bari "Cittadella Mediterranea della Scienza", Bari, Italy, established a double contact with Italian astronaut PAOLO NESPOLI, IZ0JPA on board the International Space Station. Astronaut NESPOLI operated with the special Italian callsign IR0ISS that he will use during his mission. The "Cittadella Mediterranea della Scienza" in Bari operated the contact with callsign IZ7EVR.
The "Cittadella Mediterranea della Scienza" of Bari is a permanent structure whose main aim is to diffuse scientific culture and its related technologies. The "Cittadella Mediterranea della Scienza" of Bari, inaugurated on the 18 of october 2006, has been promoted by University of Bari, Region of Puglia, City of Bari, National Institute for Physics of the Matter (I.N.F.M.), Puglia Regional Office for Schools, Mediterranean Universities Partnership and Industrial Association of the Province of Bari.
On 30 October 2010, in the prestigious presence of Princess Elettra Marconi, the "Cittadella" has inaugurated its new didactic laboratory for Telecommunications, Astrophysics and Optics. The laboratory offers students of every degree the possibility to participate to two prestigious international projects: ARISS and SETI of the Seti League.
ARISS mentor Francesco De Paolis, IK0WGF proposed to radio contact coordinator in Bari to set up a direct contact with assistance from ARISS Telebridge station IK1SLD, installed at Casale Monferrato Airport, Piemonte, Italy. Michele Mallardi IZ7EVR, contact coordinator for this ISS contact, decided in favour of this set up. The questions were read by the students at "Cittadella Mediterranea della Scienza". In the University an audience of about 100 students, teachers, visitors and media assisted to the contact. Before the contact, ARISS mentor Francesco De Paolis, IK0WGF introduced the event by teleconference phone line.
At 12:22 UTC, contact with IR0ISS was established by station IZ7EVR. Astronaut Paolo NESPOLI answered 14 questions. At 13:57 UTC, contact with IR0ISS was established by station IK1SLD. DOUBLE CONTACT FOR ESA ASTRONAUT PAOLO NESPOLI, IZ0JPA WITH TWO ITALIAN SCHOOLS
Wednesday, 12 January, 2010 at 10:54 UTC and 12:30 UTC, i.e. 11:54 and 13:30 local time, Istituto Comprensivo Marco Polo-Viani Scuola Secondaria 1° Grado and Istituto Suore Mantellate, Viareggio, Lucca, Italy, established a double contact with Italian astronaut PAOLO NESPOLI, IZ0JPA on board the International Space Station. Astronaut NESPOLI operated with Italian special callsign IR0ISS that he will use for six months of the mission. The Istituto Suore Mantellate, Viareggio, Lucca was the contact site and operated with callsign IZ5PVC.
The school is situated in the north-centre of Viareggio, in a large building near the seaside and the pinewood. The school is attended by 338 students from the age of eleven to thirteen fourteen. There are 14 classrooms with 43 teachers and a headteacher. The school has an experimental curriculum, that is basic subjects plus additional activities such as Drama, Art, Music, Foreign Languages (Spanish, English, French, German) attended by groups of students. School activities are carried out in special well equipped laboratories.
The Institute Suore Mantellate of Viareggio was founded in the mid-1800. The Institute became a school in 1913, with various grades: nursery (kindergarten), elementary school, girls school. In 1946, a Middle School and an Science Institute were added. The school progressed steadily and in 1987 the Science Institute addressed biological and psychological fields. Presently it has become a "Communications High School." The Institute offers primary and secondary education to boys and girls aged 6 to 18 years.
ARISS mentor Francesco De Paolis, IK0WGF proposed to the radio contact coordinator in Viareggio a direct contact with assistance by ARISS Telebridge station IK1SLD installed at Casale Monferrato Airport, Piemonte, Italy. Mr. Alessandro Tesconi IK5EHI, contact coordinator for this ISS contact, decided in favour of a direct with assistance by IK1SLD telebridge station. All questions were read by the students from two schools. Contact site was located in the Istituto Suore Mantellate, Viareggio, Lucca. The audience amounted to 150 students, teachers, visitors and media.
At 10:54 UTC, contact with IR0ISS was established by station IZ5PVC. ESA astronaut PAOLO NESPOLI answered 15 questions per direct radio contact. At 12:30 UTC, contact with IR0ISS was again established by station IZ5PVC. Astronaut ESA PAOLO NESPOLI answered 7 more questions and exchanged greetings. The signal from the ISS was loud and clear all the time.

ARISS SCHOOL CONTACT PLANNED WITH SCHOOL IN CIVITAVECCHIA, ROME, ITALY
An ARISS School Contact is planned for Istituto Comprensivo Via Toscana 2 Civitavecchia, Roma, Italy.
The direct radio contact is scheduled on Saturday January 15 at 09:02 UTC, which is 10.02 CEWT.
The school has 5 sites in town. "Ennio Galice" secondary school is named after one of its best teachers as well as a well-known painter. The present school is the result of the union of two pre-existing ones and today, with its five branches, it operates on a very large area. There are about 750 pupils aged 3 to 14. Thanks to experienced teachers, attentive to social as well as environmental problems, the students are always prepared to participate to projects concerning wide ranging themes.
The ARISS contact will be conducted in Italian with astronaut Paolo Nespoli - IZ0JPA.
The downlink signals will be audible in Europe on 145.800 MHz FM.
