Jest sporo przykładów kiedy radioamatorzy odbierali sondy kosmiczne (np. chiński łazik na Księzycu http://www.uhf-satcom.com/amateurdsn/chang-e-3/ , orbitery Marsa). Rekord należy do zespołu AMSAT-DL/IUZ: w marcu 2006 odebrali sygnał z Voyagera-1.
