I bought one used to play with a couple of years ago. I actually thought the thing was dead in the SWR department. I went through the whole realignment procedure without avail. On the unit I had, anything under 1.3:1 was one blob. Two blobs was about 1.5:1, and 3 blobs, about 1.6:1. It takes about 4:1 to get all of the display to show. Generally, if my SWR is below 4 on the 15 scale the rig doesn't fold back power. From tests I've done before with my SWR analyzer and a tuner, that's probably a hair over 2.25:1 At 6 out of 15, the "SWR" indicator comes on and flashes. I think that should happen at about 3:1 SWR.
