readme : Changes in version 0.50: ---------------------------- Several changes were made to ARISSatTLM so that it reads and writes files to an "ARISSatTLM" folder on the user's desktop. Previously ARISSatTLM would write (or try to write) the logfiles, telemetry, and KURSK files to whatever directory the ARISSatTLM.EXE executable was installed in. This can cause problems in Windows 7. In Windows XP, this means ARISSatTLM should be using C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Desktop\ARISSatTLM where "UserName" is the user name that you use to login to Windows. In Windows 7, this *SHOULD* be something like C:\Users\UserName\Desktop\ARISSatTLM In either case, you should fine the Telemetry, Logs, and Kursk subdirectories there. Each subdirectory should contain what it is named for. In addition, this should eliminate the requirement to run ARISSatTLM as an administrator (I hope) and it should cause ARISSatTLM to remember the window positions if you rearrange the windows on the screen. If the screen positions get "all messed up" or one of the windows permanently disappears, there is a way to reset the config file. To reset the config file, quit from ARISSatTLM, then either run the "reset-config-file.bat" file in "C:\Program Files\ARISSatTLM" or just delete the ARISSatTLM.CFG file from the Desktop\ARISSatTLM directory, then restart ARISSatTLM. If you need to select "Run as administrator" (or some other "Run as") in order to run the installation program, then do NOT check the box at the end of the installation to run ARISSatTLM. Just finish the installation, and when the installer quits, then run ARISSatTLM manually. If you already have a previous version of ARISSatTLM installed, then you should uninstall that version, and then install this version. To uninstall, click on Start / Programs (or Start / All Programs ) then ARISSatTLM then Uninstall ARISSatTLM. Or, you can go to the Control Panel and select "Add or Remove Programs" to uninstall ARISSatTLM. If you get a FATAL ERROR message, email me a screen shot of the FATAL ERROR message that pops up on your screen. |
